The world's fourth-largest rail network carries over 8 billion passengers each year. But it's also a personal, timeless icon for every Indian, carrying memories of childhood, stories overheard from strangers, and so much more.
To celebrate the tiniest of things that mean so much to anyone who has travelled on these trains, I conceptualised and designed this series with a minimalist approach, shifting the focus from the impressive statistics to experiences and objects that invoke nostalgia -- and a desire to go on a long train ride once again.
