In India, Google’s initiatives go beyond the cities and into heartland. With projects like RailWire, Internet Saathi and Hindi Voice Search, Google tries to build and foster an infrastructure that democratizes technology. Our task was to talk about these India-first projects in a novel way. We chose Google For India 2017 as our platform. The spotlight was bright as the event brought together CxOs and industry leaders. We took a cultural cue from the Bioscope, part of India’s childhood, to create the IndiaScope.
A Progressive Web App experience displayed Google’s India projects seamlessly. Replicating the scrolling mechanism, we created a 3-way sync between an Android tablet, Arduino and the analog crank. Visitors could peek inside the IndiaScope, rotate the crank and discover Google’s India-first initiatives in a delightful way.
The IndiaScope aimed to combine nostalgia with technology and exhibit Google’s innovations in India and evolve the brand story. More than 150 CXOs and industry leaders interacted with the IndiaScope at Google For India, 2017.
